Team Parent Program

Volunteering to be the Team Parent is a great way to meet your volunteer requirement. It helps to ease some of the responsibilities that are asked of the coaches. The Team Parent is a partner to the coaches and will help with communication to the team and help organize team responsibilities throughout the season. It will be the coaches responsibility to assign a Team Parent. The coach will communicate to the league commissioner who has volunteered to be the Team Parent. The commissioner will keep a log of who has volunteered. There can only be one Team Parent per team. Listed below are some of the responsibilities that will be asked of the Team Parent.

Team Parent Responsibilities

  1. Team Gift Basket for Opening Day Basket Raffle
    • Collect contributions from player families for the team gift basket.
    • Purchase and assemble the gift basket.
    • Ensure the completed gift basket is donated to the league prior to Opening Day.
  2. Snack Stand Tokens - The kids absolutely love this. It just might be the highlight of their day at the field.
    • Collect money from player parents for snack stand tokens ($1 or $2 per game)
    • Purchase snack stand tokens before each scheduled game.
    • Distribute tokens to each player at the conclusion of every game.
  3. Snack Stand Volunteer Coordination
    • Secure a volunteer to cover each of the team's assigned snack stand shifts (typically two shifts, occasionally three; 1 volunteer per shift).
    • If volunteer positions remain unfilled, the Team Parent is responsible for covering the shift or arranging coverage.
    • Please note that team parent volunteer fees will not be refunded if assigned shifts are not covered.
    • Communicate volunteer information to Jen Pawelek. Include the volunteer's full name and phone number for each scheduled shift.
    • All snack stand volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.

A quick reminder that only the volunteers scheduled for that shift should be inside the Snack Stand while it’s open. Thank you for helping us keep things organized and safe.

  4. Hand out picture order forms and pictures

  5. Coaches gift - If at season’s end you wish to get the coaches a gift, the Team Parent will collect and take the lead on purchasing this gift.

We truly appreciate your commitment to volunteering. Thank you for you all you do!
