Tonawanda American Little League Volunteer Info

Thanks to everyone for being a part of our TALL family and participating in the great things we are trying to do at our Little League.  Everything that happens here is the result of the effort  and hard work of the entire TALL community.  We are an organization of volunteers, and nothing can happen at the facilities without the help of everyone.  Our Board works hard, not only during the season (preparing fields, scheduling games, running the candy stand, etc.) but also all off season (finding sponsors, planning fundraising, facility maintenance, etc). We do this to try to ensure that we can have successful seasons year after year and to provide the teaching and fun that our young players need.

In the past few years the volunteer program has not been as efficient and organized as it needs to be.  We have had many issues with not only getting help with the many activities around the facilities (clean up days, event days, field maintenance, the candy stand, etc.), but also with posting opportunities and tracking the time.

To help with this, this season the Board has taken a couple steps to try and remedy the situation.  First, we would like to thank Christa Skura and Michelle Schmitt for volunteering their time to help organize and run both the Candy Stand and the Volunteer Program in 2018.  Secondly, we have added a Volunteer Opportunities tab to our website, located on the horizontal menu near the top of the page.  Clicking this will take you to the list of available opportunities to help satisfy your families volunteer obligations.  This will allow us to not only track volunteer hours more easily, but will make it easier for the entire community to see when we need help and what we need help with.

A full document about the volunteer program and requirements to receive back volunteer checks will be posted on our documents tab in the next week and will be available at the combine on the 17th as well as at the Candy Stand when the season begins.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience and help in making this new and improved program successful.  Anyone having any questions can contact any of our Board members throughout the season. Contact information is available on the website.

Sincerely,

TALL Board
