Tonawanda American Little League would like to thank the following individuals and their families for generous contributions to the League:
In Memory of Shane Foster
We are proud to announce that The Shane Foster Scholarship Fund is one of our Major League Team Sponsors this season.
Shane Foster, a former Tonawanda American Little League player and student athlete at Tonawanda High School, died March 2018.
After Shane passed away, his family continued his legacy by creating a scholarship fund for student athletes at Tonawanda High School. Shane played football, basketball and baseball when he was a student there.
Shane’s family has given back to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline says suicide is the second leading cause of death for people between 10 and 24 years old.
The Shane Foster Scholarship Fund strives to reach families who have experienced the devastation of suicide loss while helping raise awareness for mental health issues in children and young adults.
In Memory of John Abt....
His loving wife Elaine has made contributions in 2014 and 2015 to the league in his honor.
John was a lifelong resident of the City of Tonawanda where he served on the Police Force for 23 years prior to moving to North Carolina. He was a member of the Captains/Lieutenants Association, the Western New York Police Association and attended the FBI Academy. John loved so many things, but nothing more than his family and friends who he would do anything for. John passed away April 8, 2014.
TALL extends its warmest thanks to Elaine for her generous donations and his service to the City of Tonawanda Community.
